Proper blog post!

Alright?
How're you doing then? me? not that good actually, I've had sinusitis and an ear infection for over a fortnight and now my right ear is all yucky and infected, but I'm on yet more antibiotics, and hopefully matters will start to improve.
Anyway, I'm going to try to make this blog less of a 'health chronicle' than the last one - you watch though, it'll soon just degenerate into me whingeing about my ailments!
Give it a few years and I'll be one of those old girls at bus stops who tell you about their bunions and operations!
So yeah, apart from being not well, I haven't done much, Christmas was quiet, very quiet :) I bought Mark 'Guitar Hero' for the Wii that we've owned for over a year and have only just got out of the box, I surprised myself be being not that bad it at, although it does make your arms ache!
Here's Mark, strutting his stuff

Bless him, he gets really into it :)
Mark bought me a pair of walking boots for Christmas and we've been on a few walks in local woods and also Hatfield Forest, I've now decided that we definitely need a dog! I've wanted a Westie for ages, but I think it might be the final straw from Muppet Pig, she already has to put up with Blue Pig bullying her, I think she'd pack her suitcase and leave if we got a dog too!
Ooh wasn't it cold just after Christmas? I was bloomin freezing on our walk around the forest, hence the deeply unflattering hat I wore - I like this pic but do think that both Mark and I look very old! Still, we are getting on a bit.

Well, seeing as I claim that this is a craft blog, here's a bit of craft - firstly, a card I made for my lovely friends Ian and Steph,

They are friends of mine from University, we first met about 15 years ago! They met up again a couple of years ago, got together, and have now left London to live in Devon - lucky sods! I shall miss them a lot. Anyway, I made them this card. I saw the Paperartsy stamp set in a local shop quite a while and thought that the quote was so apt for this occasion - Ian and Steph never realised that by meeting up for a quick drink after years of not seeing each other, they'd end up together. (A quick drink arranged by me! just call me Cupid!)
The 'tag' comes out of that pocket, Steph said she'll use it as a bookmark :)
And the quote - well that says "In life there are no ordinary moments. Most of us never really recognise the most significant moments when they are happening" - pretty apt eh? well, I think so.

I had a fanciful notion about making all my Christmas cards last year, of course, that never happened, I think I actually made about 6! Including this one, Mark's Christmas card, I quite like it :)

I also made this, very similar card, as a thank you for the lady at work who organised our Secret Santa - I don't think she realised it was handmade, not sure if that's a compliment or not!

And this one was for my mate Pauline, it's a new job card, and yes, the background paper IS upside down! (that was very sweary when i discovered what I'd done!)

And finally - a scrapbook LO, I hadn't scrapped for ages, I mean months until I made this the other day - I've used this photo loads of times, as my Facebook profile pic, my UKScrappers avatar, my Blogger profile pic, I thought it was about time I scrapped it. I actually took it myself, to check if I'd straightened the back of my hair properly, but I didn't realise that I had the zoom on the camera, so it came out as a close up - therefore you cant see my triple chins, for some reason my skin looks half decent in it, and because you can only really see one eye, the fact that I have one eye bigger than the other can't be seen - in all, a great result!

I printed the pic on watercolour paper in B&W and then watercoloured a bit of colour back in. The papers are all from the Sonoma range by Scenic Route.
Sadly though, after that brief flurry of activity, I think it'll be several months again before I do any more scrapping, for some reason my heart just isn't in it - I'm going on a retreat in April with lovely Sam, hopefully I'll have a bit more enthusiasm by then!
Anyway, I expect I've bored you enough by now - I shall attempt to blog again soon, although I'm not doing anything blog-worthy! I could rattle on about my poorly ear, but I fear that would be very dull.
Oh well, until next time - Bye!
